IRONMAN® BRAZIL

Frequently Asked Questions

A collection of frequently asked questions our clients have asked us when booking our trip to IRONMAN® Brazil.

You should check when buying your ticket as rules do change but recent rules stated that tourist visas for most countries (including nationals from the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, the UK, most European Union nations and South American nations) are NOT REQUIRED for entry into Brazil and you are allowed to stay for up to 90 days.

We suggest you arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday at the very latest if coming from outside of South America and on Wednesday or Thursday at the very latest if you are traveling from another South American country.  If you can arrive as early as Saturday the week before the race we will have staff there to assist you.

There are many things to do after the race in Florianopolis and other areas of Brazil including the two different trips we offer to the Amazon so we suggest staying for a few days to recover and enjoy exploring Brazil.

You should book your ticket into Florianopolis (FLN).  Our package includes the round-trip airport transfer and you will be met by EST staff as soon as you exit the baggage claim.

We do not offer airfares, but we are happy to connect you with a ticket agent we are working with who have offices in the US and Brazil who can assist you with your flight arrangements in English, Spanish or Portuguese.

No. Our travel package includes all the transportation you need including airport transfers and consistent daily shuttles to the supermarket, race site and all race functions.

In Brazil as with the rest of South America you drive on the right side of the road.

No, you should keep your bike in your room before and after the race while at the hotel. If you are flying to other areas of Brazil or other countries in South America then you should fly with your bike. If you do the EST trip to the Amazon your bike will be stored when you arrive in Manaus before heading off on your trip into the Amazon. Shipping your bike back home would be very expensive.

Before the race we offer bike rides and swims on the course as well as a van drive over the bike and run course. We can arrange day trips before and after the race for you to explore areas of Florianopolis. We also offer 2 different trips to the Amazon. We can also have our ticketing agent arrange trips to other areas of Brazil or other South American countries.
