IRONMAN 70.3 PUCON
Frequently Asked Questions
A collection of frequently asked questions our clients have asked us when booking our trip to IRONMAN 70.3 Pucon.
You should check when buying your ticket as rules do change but recent rules stated that tourist visas for most countries (including nationals from the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, the UK, most European Union nations and most South American nations) are NOT REQUIRED for entry into Chile. Instead, you will receive a visa stamp valid for 90 days upon arrival.
We suggest you arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday if coming from outside of South America and on Wednesday or Thursday if you are traveling from another South American country. We offer many different day trips so we suggest staying in Pucon for 4 or 5 days after the race some of these great trips!
We do not offer airfares, but we are happy to connect you with a ticket agent we are working with who can assist you with your flight arrangements in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
You should book your airplane ticket into Temuco Airport (ZCO) also known as La Araucanía International Airport. The airport is about 90k from Pucon. Our package includes the round-trip transfers between Temuco and Pucon.
No. Our travel package includes all the transportation you need. Pucon is a small town so most things are within a couple of blocks of the hotel and race site.
In Chile as with the rest of South America you drive on the right side of the road.
We can ask the hotel if they can store your bike if you plan to travel by car after the race to other areas of Chile or Argentina and then return to Pucon. If you are flying to other areas of Chile or other countries in South America then you should fly with your bike. Shipping your bike back home would be very expensive.
Before the race we offer bike rides and swims on the course as well as a van drive over the bike course. We offer many tours the week after the race around Pucon including trips to the hot springs, climbing Villarica Volcano, national parks for hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding and zipline. If we have enough people we also do an amazing BBQ at a private ranch on Monday night.
